How to develop a personal relationship with Christ

Deepen your relationship with Jesus in this small group series. Join us Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm at Holy Rosary Church from March 11 - May 27 (excluding April 15 and 22).

Jesus Christ's greatest commandment was "to love God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). To love someone means we need to know them. Jesus Christ asked his disciples the question: "Who do you say that I am?" (Mark 8:29). How would we personally answer this question?

To get to know and love someone we need to develop a personal relationship with them. Just talking ABOUT them is not enough, we need to talk TO them.

To develop a relationship with Christ is similar to developing a relationship with another human being. First, we may notice an interest in someone and ask for their name. We might meet for coffee. Then we may invite them into our home. Each time we learn more about the other, develop feelings, and start to accompany them on their journey. It is a step by step process.

In this group we will approach the subject in a threefold way:

  1. By carefully observing objects from nature, the creation of God, the Father, we can build a connection to Him.

  2. Through the meditation in our heart we connect to the love that Christ has for his disciples. We can talk to him and pray.

  3. Through our thinking and reflecting on specific Gospel passages we connect to the realm of the Holy Spirit.

There will be opportunities to share personal experiences and to pray together.

A testimonial:

“I want to thank you sincerely for these beautiful sessions which have sparked so much inspiration and gentle shifting within me, and always leave my heart, mind and body feeling replenished and relaxed.”

- Anna, 29 years old.

Jesus is calling you deeper in The Cenacle!

First Friday of each month (paused until after Easter. Next Cenacle: May 2, 2025)

You've encountered Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and now you're wondering, "what's next?" Whether you recently joined the Church or are a lifelong Catholic, "The Cenacle" sessions offer something for everyone seeking a deeper encounter with Jesus through the Eucharist.

The monthly Cenacle formation programme aims to help participants to grow in relationship with God and each other by introducing them to a way of life centred on the Eucharist as food for life's daily journey.

Every session will include an hour of study/discussion on selected topics on the Eucharist or occasionally we will hear from a guest speaker. The second hour will be time of Eucharistic Adoration.
